The hotel provides an ideal destination for a shorter or longer stay in the area of western Peloponnese. The surroundings of Zacharo, are enclosed by the lake of Kaiafas (famous for its thermal springs and water skiing activity) and the oak forest of Foloi to the north, the river of Neda with its impressive waterfalls to the south, the mountains of Ilia and Arkadia to the West and the 35km long unique sand beach to the east. The picturesque nearby mountain old villages offer a wide choice for daily visits with excellent locally prepared food, scenery untouched by human intervention and stunning views to the surrounding area, the lake and the coastline. The area is also a great location for mountaineering, hiking, cycling, water skiing, beach walking and nature watching since it combines magnificent natural scenery with many different mountain routes and hidden destinations.
The location is in close distance to the world famous ancient site of Olympia (along with its museum and stadium) and the architecturally renowned Epicourios Apollo temple, the second most important temple in Greece. Furthermore the ancient Sami at 5min, the ancient Aipy city (with its magnificent 360° view) within 20min drive through the villages and ancient Ithomi at 30min drive, offer excellent choices half or full day excursions in the area. Impressive old monasteries and churches in the vicinity also make interesting destinations for visiting. .
The hotel offers 21 spacious, fully renovated rooms. They all include baths or showers, airconditioning, TVs and a daily cleaning service is provided along with fresh linen and towels. All rooms have access to balconies or verandas.
REX offers a uique breakfast based on local ingredients. Home made pies, cakes and marmelades, freshly baked breads and fresh eggs, local honey, season fruits from the area, fresh juices and a number of other seasonal delicasies are among the selection.
